The Leidy shock resistant digging bar was originally developed and US patent #4,489,795 was issued in 1984. The inventor was a telephone company lineman that recognized a need for safety when digging around underground energize electric lines. Ever since then, the primary focus of Leidy Tool Company has been to provide safe tools to the industry. We are proud to announce our new line of products shown on this website. Some are the result of request from workers in the field who needed something just a little bit different than what was available.

Our tools, first and foremost are designed as hand tools with SAFETY in mind.

795 Series

The popular #795 series tools are made of 1-1/4" diameter, solid, fiberglass and steel forged ends. These tools are designed for digging and prying by hand and have been tested to prevent electrical shock up to 100KV.

895 Series

The new #895 Series come in (2) halves and have a Sure-Lock Connector that will not come loose while working. They provide the user with the flexibility to add extra length when needed or various attachments.

Leidy Tools is dedicated to producing high end shock resistant tools for linemen. Working in the field can be dangerous, you never know when you will hit a high voltage line while digging. These tools have been tested and exceed safety standards to protect you when working in the field.

995 Series

Tampers are designed to compact earth that has been disturbed. Curved tampers are excellent for use around poles and in tight spots.

1095 Series

Utility probes are made of 1/2" diameter solid fiberglass with 3/4" diameter steel tips and are used to safely locate underground utilities.

All Leidy Tool Products are guaranteed against defects and material and workmanship, as long as the tools have not been misused for a period of one year from date of purchase. Our tools are designed as hand tools only, we cannot assume responsibility for tools that are unreasonably used or abused whether my hand or by mechanical force. Leidy tool will repair or replace any product that has failed during the warranty. Due to manufacturers defect. Simply call for a return authorization number prior to returning the product.
